Robins and Hatchlings Visited the Fire Station!
On March 14, Round Robin Playgroup visited the Aventura Fire Station. Our friendly Firefighters were excellent sports and joined us in singing our group’s original ‘Hello Song’ and ‘Firetruck Song’ (egg shakers and all!). We then explored the inside of the ambulance, took a quick tour of the fire station, and learned the ins and outs of firetruck and all of the equipment it carries. We saw the tall ladder, saw the flights, and took turns ‘driving’ the truck.
Although our Hatchlings couldn’t understand everything we discussed, by meeting firefighters in person, they can see that they're friendly helpers who are there to keep us safe. This can help build trust and a sense of security, knowing that there are people in our community who are dedicated to protecting us.
Before we left we thanked our heroes with plentiful Dunk’n doughnuts and coffee to enjoy. It was a super fun field trip and we look forward to our next one!
